We enjoyed our travelers visit to the Highway Inn a couple of weeks ago. Our family traveled from BC to Herbert to visit family. A funny little story. The seven of us arrived about 30 minutes before closing on a quiet weekday. Then, a short time later, four more locals arrived and the server began to look nervous. We discovered she was the only one there as I suspect they weren't expecting a crowd. But, she was up for it! She called her mom, who came over and help. And, shortly after that the owner dropped off a delivery and helped her out as well. We had a great time and enjoyed the food. We'd go back anytime and I'll be anxious to try their Indian food. If you are heading to Herbert, I recommend this country restaurant.
place is great, not so busy when we got there. food taste great too. service was great as well. Definitely recommend although it's a little far from Calgary
Simply amazing Indian food in a place you would never expect it! I love Indian cuisine and have eaten in Indian restaurants all over the world and the food here is as good as you will find anywhere. The food is freshly prepared to order, flavours are distinct, and the naan from the tandoori oven is perfect. Don't be misled by the location or the decor - this restaurant is about the food. If you live nearby or are travelling the No. 1 Highway, don't miss it!
Great food, Service from the young lady was super quite. But she was inviting and sweet. We all either got a burger or chicken burger with fries and all of us had the same comments... Food was delicious. If I'm ever passing through from Manitoba again, I'll pop in for another burger
We always look for this kind of place. In the middle of nowhere, looks slightly sketchy, but awesome food and friendly service. Actual real food. Do yourself a favour and support places like this rather than multibillion dollar fast food joints with fake food. Can recommend the burgers and the clubhouse sandwich! Worth the stop off the highway for sure.
Phenomenal perogy pizza! Speaking on behalf of two pizza fanatics, this pie was not quite like anything we’ve ever had before: big soft potato chunks, plentiful green onions, subtly spiced sour cream sauce, and delicious crust (sort of semi deep dish but lighter and less oily than that style usually is). Oh, and the most satisfyingly crispy top layer of cheese baked over it all. You must try it if you’re ever in the Herbert area! With friendly and quick service, this spot definitely qualifies as a hidden gem. Really pleasant park just a few blocks down the road too, great spot to eat if you’re getting food to go!
Great pizza! Staff is very friendly. We were staying at the motel in Herbert and a Wind and Snow storm happening precented us from going pick up our food. They came and delivered it to us. We are so grateful!!!
We were on the way and stopped here to eat. The food was very delicious, fresh and nice prepared. The employees were so friendly and committed and the service was also really fast. Definitely worth it to come by here.
